The Speaker of Adamawa House of Assembly, Alhaji Aminu Iya Abbas, has rated the performance of Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri, within the pass 100 days as above average.
Speaking to newsmen in Yola, Iya Abbas said Fintiri deserved commendation for focusing on his campaign promises, particularly in areas of prompt payment of salaries, education, security and poverty alleviation.
“Workers now get their salaries between 23 to 24 of every months as promised, there is free education for primary and secondary school students, while feeding in boarding schools have been resuscitated.
“The administration has also curbed the menace of gang group in Yola known as Shila boys as promised by the governor, while many kidnappers were also arrested.
“The governor is focused on his 11 points agenda and for the first time in many years local governments are enjoying financial autonomy,” he said.
The speaker who also spoke on the cordial relationship between the legislative arm and the executive said they both resolved to put Adamawa first.
“We came to serve not to be served and have resolved to put Adamawa first,” Iya-Abbas said.
The speaker who had last week held his maiden town hall meeting with the people of his constituency, Uba/Gaya constituency in Hong Local Government, said the PDP led administration of the state remain committed to regular contact with the electorates to give account and listen to advice and complaints.
