Adamawa police nab 3 suspected kidnappers, recover threat letter, live ammunition

Adamawa State police command has arrested three suspected kidnappers and recovered a live ammunition as well as threat letter.

A statement by the command’s public relations officer (PPRO), DSP Sulaiman Nguroje said those arrested are members of a syndicate with established criminal network in Girei, Song, Fufore and Yola South local governments of the state.

According to Nguroje, the suspects who include; Abdullahi Muhammed, Musa Usman and Suleiman Ibrahim males were arrested at various locations and linked to criminal conspiracy and Kidnapping activities.

The statement said on the 3rd January, 2021, one engineer Halidu Adamu, a staff of Adamawa state water board woke up and saw a threat letter enveloped and sealed with one live ammunition of AK47 dropped at the gate of his house.

The letter reads; “we are hired killers paid to kill you, therefore you either pay two million or prepare to die.”

According to Nguroje, the command swiftly deployed it’s professional (SIB) operatives and they luckily apprehended the suspects.

Meanwhile, the command has commended the Police operatives for their dedication to duties which resulted in the successes recorded.

While appreciating the citizens for their support so far, the command calls for improved partnership and collaboration between the citizens and the police particularly in the area of providing useful information.

The statement noted that all the suspects will be charged to court on conclusion of investigations.
