Two farmers, Alhaji Sanusi Iro Dabai, a Kaduna based farmer and his friend, Alhaji Kabiru kidnapped on October 26 were killed by their abductors on Monday after collecting N2.1 million ransom.
the friends were kidnapped on their way to farms along Jos Road at Kangimi Village in Igabi local government area of Kaduna state.
The kidnappers also beat up to near death, Malam Muhammad (aka Sarki Noma Madami), the courier who took the ransom money to them.
A family member of late Alhaji Sanusi told journalists that the kidnappers demanded N10 million but were given N2.1 million instead.
the kidnappers were given N2 million in cash and N100,000 worth of airtime.
The family member further revealed that families of the kidnapped victims suspected that they have already been killed by their abductors.
He said: “They probably have killed both of them while the negotiation was going on because, after a long time of silence from the kidnappers and no more communication from the kidnapped men, we realized that they were likely dead.
We then collaborated with the local security men (vigilantes) and finally, a search team found their corpses. Their bodies were recovered and buried according to the Islamic rites”.
