The Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa state has suspended its planned flag-off campaign scheduled for Saturday, December 26 for the forthcoming Local Government Councils elections in the state.
According to a press release signed by the state PDP’s organizing secretary, Hamza Bello, the suspension of the campaign flag-off is due to the change of timetable of schedules by the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC)
ADSIEC has shifted the local government councils’ elections by four weeks: from November 9 to December 7 FOMBINATIMES has reported earlier.
“PDP Adamawa state chapter had planned to flag-off its Local Government Councils election campaign on Saturday, October 26, 2019. We have mobilized our members who are coming from the 21 local government areas of the state.
“However, due to recent development emanating from ADSIEC in which there is an amended timetable in respect of 2019 local government elections, the executive committee of the PDP Adamawa state chapter has suspended the planned flag-off and the local government campaign tour in respect of the local government elections
“The party shall announce, at an appropriate time, the new dates for the activities. This information is for our members and the general public”. The statement said.
