The national chairman, Fityanul Islam of Nigeria, Sheikh Ibrahim Abubakar Daware calls on Nigerians irrespective of their religious and political affiliations to embrace peace and shun religion and ethnic differences among themselves.
The Sheikh made this call yesterday at Kugama Jummat Mosque in Mayo-Belwa local government area of Adamawa state, in an inaugural lecture for the newly elected executives of Mayo Belwa chapter of the Zawiya Darikatul Tijjaniya Foundation.
The chairman lamented that unity and peace are the pivotal elements for national development, and that only through them good governance and meaningful development will be achieved.
Sheikh Daware also used the event to call on Muslims to seek both Islamic and western education so as to be part of the digital eraor there is no knowledge a waste.
Also speaking at the occasion, Saiyidi Sukairat Modibbo Jelani admonishes the newly sworn in executives to fear Allah in all their activities.
Saiyadi Jelani further reminded the new executives of the sect that: “You were not selected because you are better than the rest or for pageantry, but because Allah wants to use you in bringing unity and peace, and also propagate Islam.”
Barrister Modibbo Bakari who administered the oath urges the newly sworn in executives to adhere to the teachings the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of the holy Prophet in the cause of discharging their duties.
Also present at the event, the senator representing Adamawa central in the national assembly, Sen. Abdulaziz Murtala Hammanyero Nyako, who was ably represented by Alhaji Umaru Mijinyawa Kugama donated the sum of five hundred thousand naira, and charges Muslim to live in peace and harmony.
Sen. Nyako therefore commended the organizers of the event for their foresight and urges for sustainability of such events.
