Adamawa State police command has enjoined Muslim faithfuls to comply with COVID-19 protocols during the Eid-el-kabir festival in order to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus disease.
A statement by the image maker of the state police command, DSP Sulaiman Nguroje expressed the commissioner of police’s felicitation with the Muslim ummah during the sacred period.
“The commissioner of police, Olugbenga Adeyanju has congratulated Nigerians as the Muslim Ummah in Adamawa state joint their faithfuls all over the world to celebrate this year’s Eid el-Kabir.
“The CP notes that this special period of sacrifice geared towards attaining wholesomeness, reinforces his belief that with the citizen’s collective perseverance and voluntary compliance with the prevention regulations emplaced by Governments at all levels, the state will surely overcome the COVID-19 pandemic and other criminal activities,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, the CP has assured the people of Adamawa adequate security during and after the Eid el-Kabir celebrations, noting that proactive and robust anti-crime measures, including the deployments of tactical and intelligence assets of the command, are already in place to prevent any untoward incidents in the state.
The command however, reminds the citizens that the COVID-19 prevention regulation orders are still in force.
It therefore enjoins the citizens to observe the Eid celebrations bearing in mind the unusual times occasioned by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic as the command will leave no stone unturned towards the due enforcement of the orders.
