Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Tuesday said he will lead Adamawa prominent sons and daughters to President Muhammadu Buhari to lobby the convertion of Modibbo Adama University of Technology MAUTECH Yola into conventional university.
The Governor made this known when he granted audience to the members of the Governing Council of MAUTECH led by its chairman and Pro chancellor of the University Malam Bukar Zarma on a courtesy call at the Council Chamber, Government House, Yola.
Governor Umaru Fintiri said he will continue to partake in the struggle he has started to actualize the mission for Adamawa people and other states in the catchment area of the institution to benefit more on admission and employment.
The Governor maintained that the people of Adamawa will not regret voting him as their Governor as his administration has already taken bold steps in turning around the fortunes of the people for the better in the areas of security, education, infrastructure and human development.
He thanked the members of the Governing Council of MAUTECH for condoling with him over the demise of his father and prayed Allah to reward them and grant the soul of late Alhaji Umaru Badami eternal rest and Aljannatul Firdausi.
Earlier in his remark, the Chairman of the Governing Council of MAUTECH Malam Bukar Zarma who is the Pro-Chancellor said the visit was among others to commiserate with Governor Umaru Fintiri and his family over the passing away of his beloved father.
The Chairman congratulated the Governor on his success at the polls and subsequent inauguration into office and wished him God guidance to continue with the good work he has started which has put smiles on the faces of Adamawa citizens.
Mallam Zarma who took turn to enumerate the history of the university and its contribution to Adamawa and the North East when it ran management courses, appealed to Governor Umaru Fintiri to actively take part and facilitate the conversion of the university.
He described the Governor as education friendly and assured that the university will continue to give him all the necessary support he deserves for success in the sector.
