Former Adamawa ANPP guber candidate, Adamu Modibbo dies at 63

A foremost political associate of ex-vice-president Atiku Abubakar and former gubernatorial candidate of All Nigerian Peoples Party (ANPP) in Adamawa, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu Modibbo is dead.

The businessman cum politician according to a close associate, was born in 1957.

The source said the politician died Sunday at about 4:00pm in Yola at Adamawa/German hospital after a brief illness.

“Before he was taken to hospital, he told us that he was taking malaria and typhoid treatment.

“But when the fever gets higher, we took him to a hospital were he was referred to the German hospital.

“He recorded tremendous improvement yesterday and even took a stroll outside the hospital from the VIP 3 ward were he was admitted.

“But he died today at about 4:00pm possibly from heart failure,” the source said.

Modibbo left behind two wives and many children.

Details of his burial arrangement were not yet released by the family.
