Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has expressed deep shock over the extra-judicial murder of the Chairman of Tabital Pulaku Joondie Jam, a Fulani socio-cultural group, Abdu Bali and one other.
A statement signed by the Director General, Media and Communications to the governor, Solomon Kumangar said, the governor was in deep sorrow for the loss of the two precious souls.
“Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has condemned in strong terms, the killing of Alh. Abdu Bali, the chairman Tabital Pulaaku Joondie Jam and one other in Yola.
“Mr. Governor is deeply saddened that another precious life has been needlessly taken, casting a dark pall on the celebration of Nigeria’s fifty-ninth independence anniversary in the state.
“Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has equally condemned the killing of Ishaya Dauda PDP ward chairman of Muchalla in Mubi north local government which also occurred on independence day.
“The governor has since directed the police to go after and apprehend the killers. He condoled the families of the deceased and wished those injured quick recovery, ” the statement said.
The Chairman alongside one other person, were shot dead in his house at Lakare, Yola south, Adamawa State by unknown gunmen around 8:30pm on Tuesday.
A source close to the family informed FOMBINATIMES that three unknown gunmen stormed the residence of Bali on the fateful Tuesday and opened fire at him and others in the house leading to death of two just as another sustained fatal gun wound.
Bali was one of the heroes waging sustained war against hardened criminals especially kidnappers leading to the arrest of many of them.
