As Muslim faithful from around the world set to commence Hajj rites in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Saudi government has constructed a new road for the sole use of Nigerian Pilgrims.
The acting chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Barr. Abdullahi Mukhtar Muhammad stated this while addressing stakeholders at a pre-Arafat dinner to sensitise them on the need to be up and doing toward ensuring the success of the Hajj exercise.
The chairman also commended the Saudi authorities over their special consideration and concessions to ease this year’s Hajj exercise for Nigerian Pilgrims.
He outlined some of the considerations and concessions to include the facilities provided for the pilgrims in Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifah, and the latitude for continued payment of this year’s Hajj fares up to some few days to the commencement of the exercise.
He said the newly constructed road leads directly from Nigeria’s tents area in Mina all the way to Jamarat where the symbolic stoning of the devil is done.
