Governor Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindow is making plans to shame his detractors saying that he will proceed to Sudan to gain more Quranic knowledge immediately after his tenure lapsed on May 29, 2019.
Bindow who made the disclosure on Wednesday at an afternoon popular Hausa radio programme of Adamawa State Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), Tabakidi Taba Karatu says “I want to go -to Sudan, there is a Quranic school I want go and study there.
“I would like to refresh my Islamic knowledge, to increase my knowledge, there is an Islamic institute in Sudan, I want to go there so that I will make sure I know what I am doing.
“I am also here to greet you my Boss, Alh. Adamu and the rest of you. Whether I leave to Abuja on May 29 or you see me again; that we are not sure of. But my intention is to go to school,” he said.
Modi Halilu, Bindow’s rival at the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries for the party’s candidature has accused the Governor of lacking the minimum educational qualification to contest for the position as his school certificate is alleged to have been forged. A case dismissed at court for lack of jurisdiction.
Bindow used the opportunity to thank the people of Adamawa state who supported his administration.
“I am also begging that everyone in Adamawa should pray for us because God is the only one who knows what awaits us but God have given me everything he can give to a person”. Bindow said.
“Allah made me a son to Alhaji Umaru Jibrilla, he made me a Muslim, and he made me join politics. I have become a senator for 4 years, a Governor for 4 years and I may even continue to complete the 8 years.
“Nobody knows what will happen tomorrow, everything belongs to him; He owns the leadership and nobody knows what he will do.
” As a man, you would never know what Allah arranges. But for my present status, I am so grateful to him and I am still praying that he give peace to Adamawa; this is why I am here,” he said.
Gov. Bindow has lost his re-election bid to Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in the controversial Adamawa state governorship election conducted recently.
The governor elect, Alhaji Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has inaugurated a 65 man transition committee tasked to ascertain the financial status of the state by outlining the assets and liabilitie.
