The Numan federation has been overtaken by grief as news filtered that Mr Irmiya Stephen, Hama Bachama; the ruler of Bachama kingdom in Numan LGA of Adamawa state is dead.
Although the traditional council is yet to officially announce the death of the king, leaders from the area have taken to their various social media platforms to announce death of the traditional ruler.
According to the tradition, only the traditional council has the mandate to announce death of kings.
In a solemn message which attracted sympathetic comments, a renowned son of the soil and also a prominent traditional title holder, Chief Timaus Mathias announced the death of the traditional ruler on his Facebook page.
In a terse message, Mathias said: ” Homun Kwirei-Mana Kpafrato II Gbulumbomo Irmiya Stephen the great, Adieu.”
Many have expressed deep shock over the death of the traditional ruler who was enthroned in 2012 after the death of his predecessor, Homun Stephen who died in Cairo.
