A middle-aged man was stabbed to death while trying to separate two Fulani youths who were engaged in a scuffle at Karlahi market, in Fufoure local government, Adamawa State.
The incident according to our source, took place at about 6:00 pm Saturday at Karlahi market.
The two Fulani youths according to the source were apparently intoxicated because of their erratic behavior.
“From their erratic behavior, it is apparent that the Fulani youth were high either on drugs or alcohol.
” They first started reining abuses before one brought out knife and the other brought out a cutlass. When the man with the cutlass aimed to stab the other, he missed step and the cutlass fell off from his hand.
“A fellow onlooker made an attempt to take away the cutlass so as to prevent its usage in the fight. But unfortunately, the other Fulani man who was infuriated by the intervention of the man stabbed him severally leading to his death,” the source said.
Our source added that the injured man was rushed to Karlahi hospital but was confirmed dead by the doctor while the two Fulani youths were whisked away to the Karlahi police station.
Efforts to get the reaction of the image-maker of Adamawa State police command, DSP Sulaiman Nguroje before going to press was futile as his phone number was switched off. He neither responded to SMS forwarded to him on the subject.
