Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri is still in Kogi State to finish his assignment of conducting the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) primaries, a statement by the Director-General, media and communications to the governor, Solomon Kumangar disclosed.
Kumangar dispelled information being spread on social media to the effect that the governor has left Kogi State following gunshots at the venue of the primaries as mere fabrications that have no basis noting that no threat will make the governor abandon such lofty assignment.
“We wish to draw the attention of the public to the misleading information, being spread in some online/social media to the effect that Adamawa State, Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has left Kogi State after Wednesday morning’s attack on the venue of the PDP Gubernatorial Primaries.
” It bears reassuring, that Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri is safe and is still in Kogi to complete the National assignment he was given by his party and no amount of threat will deter him from doing so.
“As chairman of the panel set-up to conduct the PDP Gubernatorial Primaries, it has been attested that he has so far conduct the exercise in a free and fair manner.
“Any further details regarding the exercise will be made known as when due,” Kumangar said.
The venue of the gubernatorial party primaries of PDP came under attack in the wee hours of Wednesday after the exercise has reached advanced stage of completion.
