The Adamawa state coordinator of the National Youths’ Service Corps, NYSC, Mallam Abubakar Mohammed urges Corps Members not to rely solemnly on government for jobs opportunities.
The coordinator made this call at the Batch B 2017 stream I passing-out-parade in Yola, Adamawa state.
Mallam Abubakar noted that maximising the training Corps Members acquired through the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme of the NYSC is enough for them to be self reliant.
He said that the government can not employ all graduating Corps Members, no matter how they want it to be possible.
He added that being self reliant will not only afford them to be free from job seeking burdens but will also make them create job opportunities their contempraries.
Addressing the eight Corps Members that bagged awards in various categories, Mallam Abubakar applauded their outstanding performances by going extra-mile to touch lives of the people in respective places of prinary assignments through executing personal projects.
He said, “the outstanding performances you displayed have earned you respect from beneficiaries, and put you in the list of heroes in the annals of Adamawa state.”
“You should be good ambassadors of the nation wherever you go, and whatever you may be doing after leaving the NYSC scheme.” He added.
