Police launches investigation into alleged rape by policeman in Adamawa

The Adamawa state police command has commenced investigation into alleged rape by a policeman.

A statement by the command’s image maker, DSP Sulaiman Nguroje said the command has apprehended one Sergeant Aminu Abdullahi for alleged rape and has commenced investigation to ascertain the policeman’s culpability or otherwise.

“The investigation will amongst other things seek to medically establish the commission of the offence both human and material evidences for ensuring law takes it’s course.

“However, while not being prejudicial to the ongoing investigations, it is necessary to state that the character exhibited by the perpetrator is not a true reflection of who we are as a regimented law enforcement agency – our trainings, discipline, norms and tradition,” the statement said.
