School Feeding Program begins in Adamawa state.


The National Home Grown School Feeding Program (NHGSFP) has today Monday kicks off in all the 21 local government areas of Adamawa state.

The program is a federal government initiative aimed at feeding pupils of primary schools across the country.

The school feeding program was started earlier this year in some states of the federation.

FOMBINA TIMES gathered that the program has commenced today in the state as our reporters visited some selected schools in Adamawa central schools to see for themselves.

This is in response of directives from the office of the Adamawa state coordinator of the program which urged all the 21 local government education secretaries to mobilize food vendors to start feeding pupils.

“Following the release of finds into the vendors accounts, we are hereby informing you that the proper feeding program will commence on 24th September, 2018.” according to Fadimatu Alfa, project manager of the state.

Our reports sighted personnel of local education authority in Fufore and Yola south supervising the feeding program.
The program will help retain pupils in the school because many of them don’t come back when they go for class, and it can also boost enrolment derive.

“Another thing is that it would help improve the intelligent quotient of pupils because the food contains balanced diet” sectional head, school services of Fufore LGEA told this newspaper.
