Governor Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindow as well as other gubernatorial contenders did not file a complaint to challenge the victory of Adamawa State governor elect, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, as elections petitions tribunal begins sitting in Adamawa today.
The candidate of the People Democratic Party (PDP), Alh. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has won the Adamawa state supplementary governorship election in all the 14 local government areas of the state where the election took place.
In the next one hour, the Adamawa State returning officer will return the candidate of PDP Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri as the governor elect of Adamawa State, after scoring majority votes in both the March 9 gubernatorial polls and the supplementary polls conducted earlier today.
There is high voter turn out for the Adamawa state supplementary governorship election in some polling units in Michika and Madagali local government areas despite recent Boko Haram attacks in the areas.
Gaidam who made the disclosure at a press conference, Tuesday, at the commission's office noted that "I want to tell you that the commission in consultation with the security agents are putting measures to ensure the election is going to be hitch free.
INEC resident commissioner in charge of Adamawa State, Barrister Kassim Gaidam noted that the commission has made adequate arrangement both in the area of security, staffing and materials to ensure the success of the exercise.
