Northern Govs abandon RUGA, adopt National Livestock Transformation Plan

Northern Governors have risen from their emergency meeting in Kaduna on Thursday to dump the controversial Rural Grazing Area (RUGA) policy for National Livestock Transformation Plan, as best way to tackle the age long herder/farmers clashes in the region.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, has disclosed that the National Livestock Transformation Plan was endorsed by all Nigerian governors in a last-ditch effort to bring an end to the lingering and perennial clashes between farmers and herdsmen in the country.
